[edit] Defining and Explaining Simulations

Ivo, should we have something on this page about currently existing simulations: for example:User:TonyFleet#Discussion of what exactly is meant by a simulation and some of the material which follows it, for example :User:TonyFleet#How Simulations WorkThis is such a drastic change that I wouldn't do it without discussion, but I feel we need to create some of this material, so that others can add to the examples. If you like, I could produce a copy here for you to look at before I did it.

Also, I put 'simulated time' here, not because it advanced a theory, but because it offered a vocabulary to discuss time with, that I feel was needed. This page seemed to be about definitions, so I thought that was OK. If I were going to write about time in simulations, I would do a different article, one that was based around scientific principles.

There are 2 reasons I moved the time part to a page of its own. One is that time is referenced in many pages, so it is useful to have a page to link to. The other reason is that I want to have the Simulation page as 'easily accessible' as possible, defining only those concepts that are necessary to understand most of the pages of the wiki. Regarding your suggestion about existing simulations; if it has enough body, just create a page about it. We can do a 'related pages' section on the Simulation page. --Ivo 11:50, 25 February 2007 (CET)

[edit] Mundane simulations

Hello all! More lateral thoughts of "simulations": plays, novels - avoids substrate problem but is a performed character autonomous and self-aware? dreams - realistic enough? --Deus Ex Machina
